Sydney for 3 Year
It's been a crazy last few weeks! I'll start with two weekends ago when Nick and I went to Sydney to celebrate our three year anniversary! We stayed in a section of the city called King's Cross and started the weekend off on Friday night with a nice big BBQ and a walk to the Sydney Opera House. It was Nick's first time seeing it and he was just in absolute awe and for the rest of the weekend the goal was basically to see it from every single possible angle. Then Saturday morning we went up to the top of the Sydney Eye Tower which is the tallest building in the whole city and at the top just as a lookout spot where you can see EVERYTHING and its just absolutely incredible. We took tons of pictures up there and got eachother's presents which were a nice Sydeny shirt for me and an Australian tie with kangaroos for him :) Then from there we went to the Aquarium. They had a shark tunnel which was awesome and as you walked through the tunnel there were all different kinds of sharks, cool fish and sting rays around you! They had gigantic crabs and just every kind of sea creature (no dolphins unfortunately) that you could ever imagine on display in other parts of it too. After that, we headed back to the hostel to get ready for our dinner! We went on a 3 course dinner cruise around Sydney Harbour (with the open bar package :)) and got to be in the harbour for earth hour where they turned off all of the lights in the city for an hour and it was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious too! From there, we walked around a little bit more in the city and were exhausted from the day so just went back to the hostel and crashed. Then Sunday we got up early (of course we didn't realize that the clocks had changed so got up and ready an hour early) and took the train to the opposite side of the harbour bridge so that we could walk across the bridge! The Opera house looked soooo cool from up there and it was tons of fun. We ended up in a place called the Rocks that has tons of little markets and tents set up selling cute little stuff! Then we went back towards the Opera House and walked through the Sydney Botanical Gardens to get the BEST view of the harbour that you could ever imagine. From where we were you could see both the bridge and the opera house in the same picture. Then out of nowhere I ended up seeing one of the girls who I had met a few weekends beforehand when I was staying in the city with Laura Knox and we decided we would trade off taking pictures for eachother which was perfect!! (Its hard to film a whole trip when theres only two of you-lots of asking strangers to take pictures for us!) Then we walked back to the hostel and took the train home. We both said it was probably the best weekend we've ever had in our lives! No way we could have ever celebrated our 3 year any better!
